Meet Stephanie, Evictions Manager
In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re spotlighting impactful women from IDEA Law Group throughout March. Our second employee feature highlights Stephanie Loh-Ternate, an Evictions Manager who has contributed a strong skill set and valuable insight to our organization for the past three and a half years. We’re excited to share her story.
1. What inspired you to pursue your current career path?
I have always been interested in the legal field because lawyers are equipped with skills and expertise that can help people. I am inquisitive and a pro-active person. I like to find solutions that help people. I find the work interesting and challenging because each case has its own set of issues and circumstances. It’s always different.
2. What is one challenge you faced earlier in your career that has helped you grow?
Early in my career, at a prior firm, a client acquired a large portfolio of loans. At the time I was the department manager and to meet the client’s needs we had to quickly expand our firm, including my department. I assisted in hiring and training of all new team members. I maintained my workload managing cases and providing support to our clients. This opportunity increased my responsibilities as a department manager and I gained valuable managerial experience which also included building processes and procedures. As the firm grew, I was promoted from a department manager to the office manager. I oversaw the administrative staff across three office locations as well as focusing on client services.
3. In what ways has IDEA Law Group supported and contributed to your professional growth and development?
ILG has a great culture. They provided me with support to be successful in my position. The management team is always available to listen, share their knowledge, provide feedback and resources. They also provide opportunities to learn and grow. It’s a pleasure to be part of the ILG team.
4. What woman has helped shape who you are today, personally or professionally?
I was fortunate to grow up with my grandmothers and mother who are great role models. They left their homes, made new lives in a new country, worked and raised families. Witnessing their achievements has helped shape and inspire me to emulate their success.
5. If you could give women starting their careers once piece of advice what would it be?
Be open to new and/or challenging experiences that could lead to unexpected opportunities. Speak to others who can share their knowledge. Be willing to ask questions.
